Advocacy
Our project focuses on breaking down barriers that LGBTTQ families with children face in various community settings. Specifically daycare, nursery schools, primary schools, and other community settings such as community health centres, libraries, the Children's Aid Society etc. We have had much success with our daycare and nursery school targets.
The school component targets up to the age of twelve - generally kindergarten, senior kindergarten, grade one-six. We have had less success thus far entering schools. If you can help (by approaching your community's school), we would love it. With the new funding secured through the Counseling Foundation of Canada, we are now able to extend our age group from 0-6, to 0-12 years of age. This is very exciting and we look forward to the work ahead.
